The results of the activities of the WADP
The results of the activities of the World Association for the Development of Philately have been summed up in Berne.
Artyom Adibekov, the Director General of JSC Marka and the President of the World Association for the Development of Philately (WADP), took part in the regular session of the Postal operations Council of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) and summed up the results of the activities of the World Association for the Development of Philately over the year of 2020. The event was held in the video conference format on April 21, 2021.
On November 23-26, 2020, the 19th general meeting of the WADP members was held remotely. Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the events scheduled for holding in Jakarta (Indonesia) on the occasion of the INDONESIA-2020 World Exhibition were cancelled. Therefore, the WADP created a special page on the UPU website to provide an opportunity for the members of the Association of getting acquainted with innovations and achievements that had appeared after the previous general meeting of 2019, as well as to submit future WADP projects and the results of the WADP numbering system (WNS).
In particular, WADP members approved the organization of a contest focused on the issuance of a single stamp for the 150th Anniversary of the UPU in 2024. The main goal is to popularize the experience of designated UPU operators in the field of philately among collectors and the general public through an open and generally accessible competition.
On December 10, 2020, the World Association for the Development of Philately held the first philatelic webinar on the theme of Art in the Philatelic Business Model devoted to the discussion of the experience of designated operators in this field.
Within the scope of the International Bureau activities, a TRAINPOST training course was held. The online training course was completely revised and upgraded to offer the best tools to the designated operators for the development of their philatelic activities, in particular, marketing and operations.
All the WADP efforts are aimed at mainstreaming philately as the cultural value of the global significance.
